Due to unprecedented cost and supply issues Breakwells Paints have made the decision to replace the brands Tekaloid and Tractol with our very own premium coach enamel, Bygone Colours. Please read below for the latest update from Breakwells MD and Owner, Russell Eynon.
“During 2021 and continuing into 2022 we have seen unprecedented cost and supply issues in the paint industry (as in many others!). Our Tekaloid and Tractol brand supply is also impacted by Brexit issues and we have launched our very own coach enamel paint.
Due to supply issues within the paint industry, including the difficulty in obtaining raw materials and continuous rising costs from our suppliers, for the brands Tekaloid and Tractol, we have made the decision to replace these with our British manufactured alternative, Bygone Colours.
Bygone Colours coach enamel is a premium synthetic coach enamel which is primarily used for brush application. It gives an extra-long wet edge time allowing it to be brushed without brush drag. It gives an ultimate high gloss finish, with an excellent water resistance, flexibility and good exterior durability and toughness.
It covers roughly 8-10sqm per 1 litre, depending on application and is available in a large range of colour codes, including RAL, BS, Tekaloid and Tractol etc. This paint is ideal for use in different sectors such as Narrowboats, Heritage Cars, Locomotive, Agricultural and many more! We also have a range of primer and undercoats available for use with Bygone Colours coach enamel.
All Bygone Colours products are proud to carry the Made in Britain stamp.
We have absorbed all price increases to date, however we are no longer able to do this, so, From 1st August 2022, there will be a price increase for Tekaloid and Tractol. We still have a large selection of Tekaloid and Tractol products in stock but Bygone Colours will be offered as a cost effective alternative…”
