With spring now upon us, and the forecast of some lovely weather over the next few weeks, what better time to start thinking about modernising your windows and doors!
Now, you might think your windows and doors look tired and need modernising but think the only option is to replace them all. Well the good news is its not, you can modernise and refresh the look of your windows, doors and conservatories with uPVC paint, at a fraction of the cost of replacing them all. This will give your home a whole new lease of life and extra kerb appeal! So how do you do this?
Painting uPVC windows and doors
Many people ask us if they can paint their uPVC doors and windows and the simple answer is yes, providing you use the correct uPVC spray paint. PVC17 is an Acrylic paint with excellent adhesion to uPVC so there is no need to use a primer, you just key back the area before application, making it even more cost effective.
Don’t worry if you think this job is too much for you as there are professionals that can do it for you, again it would be a lot more cost effect than replacement uPVC windows and doors.
What paint colours can I choose from
As with all of our paints we can colour match to all RAL and BS paint colour codes in a matt, satin or gloss finish. If you don’t know the code of the colour you are looking for we can custom colour match to a sample, free of charge! One of our most popular uPVC paint colours is RAL 7016, Anthracite Grey, and it is a firm favourite with the team here.
How do I apply the paint
uPVC paint is spray application only. We supply our uPVC spray paint in 400ml aerosol spray cans and 1L, 2.5L and 5L tins. Our tinned paint will need to be used through a spray gun so will need to add appropriate thinners. If you are happy to undertake this job yourself we would suggest you try a small area first and as always refer to the product data sheets.
