The spray paint is suitable for direct application and we can colour match to any RAL or BS colour code or to a sample provided. The whole process can be broken down into 3 simple stages:
Stage 1 – Preparation*
As with any project preparation is always key! Before you can start anything you need to ensure that all flooring, walls and furniture, if you are spraying indoors, are protected. When using the aerosol spray paint cans outdoor make sure you remove or protect any vehicles or garden furniture and cover any plants and paving. We have a selection of masking tapes and papers available on our online shop if you need them. You are now ready to start prepping the areas by lightly abrading the surfaces that you are painting, and wiping them clean. This is a vital part of the process as it will remove any contaminants on the uPVC substrate.
Stage 2 – Prime*
Spray a light dusting of the aerosol spray paint onto the plastic so you can check that all the contaminants have been removed during stage 1. You are now ready to Paint!
Stage 3 – Paint*
Apply 2 coats of the uPVC aerosol spray paint and ensure there is a full and even coverage. Make sure you allow a drying time of 15 minutes between the 2 coats. The product should be touch dry within 15 minutes and hard dry after 8 hours, dependent on the ambient atmosphere. Windows and doors should be left open for as long as possible to allow the coating to fully cure.
Don’t think you can manage the job yourself you could always employ a professional to do it for you and it would still be significantly cheaper than the cost of replacement windows.
