Automotive Sector – Cars

We supply a wide range of car paints and consumables suitable for the automotive market including primer, basecoat, 2 pack and lacquer (1k and 2k). Our in-house technical team can colour match the paint you require using the make, model and paint colour code from your car or if you can’t easily find this we can colour match to a sample provided.

If you are simply touching up your vehicle we can supply 400ml aerosol spray paints or 125ml and 250ml touch up paint pots, which have a brush in the lid, these are ideally used for small areas or scratches. Alternatively, for Basecoat or 2 Pack Paint see below:

Basecoat Application:

  • Preparation – You can use one of our green, grey or red scotchbrite to key back the surface you are applying to. Then use one of our Tack Cloths to remove any excess dirt and dust.
  • Primer – You will need to add a primer/undercoat to the surface. Different surfaces require different primers.
  • Paint – You will need to apply the paint through a spray gun. You will need to thin down the paint using our Universal Thinners with a mixing ratio of 1:1.
  • Lacquer – You will need to apply a lacquer for protection. We can supply a single pack RFU Lacquer or a 2 Pack lacquer however you will need a mask and respirator in order to use this product. The mixing ratio for the 2 Pack Lacquer is 2:1 (2 parts lacquer : 2 parts hardener/activator), you will need to add 10% universal thinner.

2 Pack Application:

  • Preparation – You can use one of our green, grey or red scotchbrite to key back the surface you are applying to. Then use one of our Tack Cloths to remove any excess dirt and dust.
  • Primer – You will need to add a primer/undercoat to the surface. You will need to apply our 2K 4:1 Compliant Primer which comes in white, grey and beige.
  • Paint – You will need to apply our 2K Hardener/Activator to the paint in order to use this. The mixing ratio will be 2:1 (2 parts paint : 1 part hardener) with 10% Universal Thinners. You will need to apply the paint through a spray gun.
  • Lacquer – You can apply our 2 Pack lacquer if needed but this is not required. The mixing ratio for the 2 Pack Lacquer is 2:1 (2 parts lacquer : 2 parts hardener/activator), you will need to add 10% universal thinner.
